The only exhaust restriction that I am aware of on an LX 50 (2 stroke?) is the short side pipe that comes off the header pipe. If you cut that off and weld it up your scooter will go much better. Also, there us a steel spacer behind the variator- I call it "the wedding ring" as that what it looks like. Remove it, mod the exhaust and you should see up to 70 kph.

I recently fitted a Technigas exhaust on my LX50, tried it with the restrictor in place then removed the restrictor tube, it did make a difference and is easy to grind off the little weld.

That looks exactly like the restriction on my ET2 exaust. I used my Dremel with a couple of different abrasive/grinder bits to to remove it. It took about 30 min. and few bits. It made a difference in the performance of the scooter. Mine also had a "confuser tube" appendage on the exaust that I removed as well.

If you don't have access to tools to get the exhaust restrictor out, take it to a muffler/trailer hitch shop. I took a friends 2T Vino exhaust to a shop and told the guy behind the counter what I needed out and we agreed $10. Guy was gone 5 minutes and everyone was happy.
