Went out to go on a ride yesterday and the remote seat release would not work. The small green light on the key comes on. Could the battery be to weak even though it lights up the key. No click or anything. Can still unlock by inserting key and turning.

We rode down to Medicine Park and had catfish on the patio above the river. 180 mile round trip. We enjoyed it.

4 possible causes:

1. Remote's battery is dead

2. Remote's transmitter is bad

3. Receiver on scoot is bad

4. Someone plugged the male & female bullets together under the seat and erased the code

#4, I Think we can eliminate this one. Will pull The battery to check #1
Have to look and see if the master key has a push button, Have not look at it for a long time cannot remember if it does or not. That way I can check the other two. Will have to wait until she goes to the bank and gets it out of the safety deposit box. If the master does not have a remote button guess I will have to wait until I can get a dealer to check and fix it. Wonder if I reprogram the keys if that would get it going, It worked fine the night I put the scooter in the garage, next morning---poof. Could be a loose or shorted wire. I hate dealing with this crap anymore. Have found several screws loose here lately. Guess all that vibration is starting to loosen things up. 21,000 miles so far.

The remote coding procedure is separate from the key programing. The pins are under the bottom side of the underseat tub along the frame. Red key has no remote button.

Would not work when he went for a ride. No time lapse for it to go into hibernation.

All is ok now. It was a bent contact inside the remote. The spring wire that touches the positive side of the battery. Just bent it a little so it now makes contact, must have been all the vibrations over the past 3 years on the key remote. Thanks for the suggestions. It was the one about about the remote being bad that got me thinking and opened it up to take a look. I was just going to buy a new battery and see it that would help. There was no red light that came on. The little green light on the remote came on though the whole time. Must have been barely making contact but not enough to energize the seat release. And that is a true W.A.G.

Weather just said hard freeze 24 Tuesday morning. The trees and grass have just turned green. There they go. Statewide too. Crying or Very sad emoticon

That reminds me, I will have to drain and blow the water lines on my pop up tomorrow. And I thought I was ok to leave water in the RV for most of the rest of the year until next winter. Then a couple of days later start getting packed up for the trip down south to ride the three sisters.
