Because of an unusually bad winter season the roads here in the NW Indiana region/Chicago area have taken a real beat-down and the potholes are surreal. Asphalt on some of the streets in my town has literally disintegrated. There are so many potholes on some streets that it is basically impossible to avoid them all. I have hit some in my truck so hard I swear I felt my teeth rattle. I see people everyday at my dealership bringing in cars with bent wheels and flats from hitting these damn potholes. So many roads are just destroyed. There are some block-long stretches on city where the roads are trashed. I've never seen it this bad.

With the weather warming up I'm nervous about even riding my scooters this year. 10-12 inch rims and potholes sure don't mix and I see this as a major issue and concern. I can't imagine what would happen hitting one of these potholes on my scooters.

Anyone else seeing this same problem in their area?

Nova Scotia is terrible too. I've had my Honda out, but not the Vespa. The Honda is like a little dirtbike. Also, this is the first week we've had a full week of temps over 0 degrees.

It's bad here but mostly truck heavy areas are the worst.

Avoid LaGrange merge on to 79th it is just rediculous. It is more like a lunar landscape than a road.

AS well as some HUGE pavement bubbles on Archer through the forest preserve heading towards 83. (I say this because many motorcyclists use this route daily.)

Right now I get off the highways at certain point and take side streets because of the terrible potholes.

Caught some air yesterday by some railroad tracks. But managed to stay on board.

Africa has better roads than Hawaii. does. Wha? emoticon I think i've trashed my front Malossi shock at a mere 15-17k. It's really taken the fun out of riding. The current admin is repaving but certain roads aren't going to be done anytime soon because their putting a rail system on our beautiful island. Crying or Very sad emoticon Crying or Very sad emoticon Really pisses me off about the shock. Livid emoticon

It's the same here in Vermont. The roads are absolutely terrible. My commute to work is an obstacle course of potholes - many of them literally a foot deep or more. The town has been filling them in on almost daily basis since January, but that makes a huge mess in the road, and they keep coming back.

I've been out riding a few times, but only where I know where to ride to avoid them. Unfamiliar roads are a huge hazard right now.
