... without returning to the dealer. My 2009 Vespa 250GTV has just over 12,000 miles on it. We just replaced the drive belt and made one trip to work before it starts chirping. I return to the dealer and they tighten a nut. 2-3 more trips and it won't start. Dead at the starter. I replace the battery and a fuse and make one more trip before it dies again. Tow it to the dealer for them to replace the kill switch that I never use(turn it off at the key). I get it back and start smelling gas.
Today there was gasoline dripping down the right side of my bike- just above the exhaust. Only while running and it seems to be coming from the screw cap with two hoses coming out.

What the heck guys? What do you think? This scooter has regular dealer service and maintenance. I am the original owner.

Thanks,
K

Well it looks like I will order that tow truck... So glad I didn't go up in flames.

This scooter has never had any problems until now.

The fitting into the fuel pump probably broke.

Fuel pump is internal in the tank on the GTV and GTS. No vacuum line either.
I suspect that the seal around the sending unit/fuel pump is leaking and dripping on the exhaust.

I had GT200 on my mind, and caught it about when you did.
I've seen the fitting into the fuel pump break on a couple. Plastic, pressure, heat and time, not always a winning combination.

I just went through my service records and there was a fuel pump recall that we performed in February 2013. Covered under warranty.

I am having it towed to the shop today.

The dealer said it is a fuel pump flange that cracked and 2 hoses that need to be replaced... Not gonna be cheap!
