Modern Vespa

Folks,

Most days I ride 30km to work, park up, 8hrs later ride 30km back home.

On two seperate occaissions now i have started the scoot to head home, got abot 100m and she cut out. I then pulled over, re-started and no problem thereafter.

Note; both times this has happend, i managed to get a green light from setting off, so moved pretty quickly (not sure if coincidence).

I was thinking some kind of fuel isses, but not really sure, anyone got any ideas what this might be?

It could be a very early indication of the valve clearances needing to be checked, if it bogged down and stalled. It doesn't sound like the usual culprit of the HT lead/spark plug cap, as it's OK otherwise. Can't really see how it could be a fuelling issue either - but there might be a mechanism there I haven't thought of!

Its only got 5k on the clock, could the valves need checking so soon or could it be a set up issue?

If you have a friendly dealer, get the ECU mapping checked to ensure it's the latest version - updating that sorted out cut-out issues on some other 300's, though those would cut out any old time at speed.
