I have often ridden 160 from Sacramento - Rio Vista.
On Sunday I plan on going all the way to Berkeley via 160/4/Kirker Pass Rd/ Ygnacio Valley Rd & 24. Should be nice, without the commuter traffic.
Anyone else ridden that route?
Recommended break stop locations for brunch etc?
Will be leaving around 8am and returning around 2pm

lunch
Fosters Big Horn in Rio Vista. Good food and hundreds of taxidermied animals on the walls if you can stomach eating being surrounded by long dead animals from around the world.

It'll be a good ride and a great day for it. I travel from grass valley to berkeley every few months and have taken parts of these routes. Very scenic and pretty decent roads. As far as stopping nothing really memorable along the way unfortunately. Lot's of options in Berkeley\Oakland if you just do the long haul without stopping. Now considering it will be Easter on sunday it may limit your places to stop. If you do find something interesting make sure you research if there open on Easter. Happy riding.....

Very familiar with the Big Horn (Hiccup!)

Anyone taken the Delta CA-84 "The Real McCoy II" ferry?
Is it still free? Is there a schedule, or do you just wait for it to come back?

I've taken it a few times along with the J-Mack (I think). Both are free but I'd recommend checking CalTrans website (they run both) for hours. They take a 2-hour break sometime during the day. You'd hate to be stuck out there then!

If you ever get over to Winters, stop into the Buckhorn. Or the Putah Creek Cafe, which is across the street.
