Just about to install my new crank from Scooter Center Koln. It was supplied with a very thin shim on the clutch side, where the crank meets the inner race of the main bearing. The stock crank that I removed did not have one, nor do other cranks according to the pictures/parts diagrams that I have seen.

Is anyone familiar with this crank or indeed the use of a shim between the crank and the main bearing? I can't imagine it's there for no reason.

I have concluded that the shim is surplus to requirements because, if used, it would slightly foul the clutch side oil seal as the crank was being drawn into the bearing. I'm wondered why it was supplied with the crank. It looks like one of the shims that would be used either side of the big end bearing but there would be two if that were true.

Probably just a packaging error and a big end shim got stuck to something.
You could always send them an email and query it.

Is that a stock spec crank or 60mm or ?
Im looking at a long stroke but want to know the duration of the various available.

It's this one and is a 60mm stroke:

I originally looked at the Polini one, but nearly fell off my chair when I saw the price. The BGM Pro crank is never in stock, so I decided to give this one a try with the Pinasco Super Sport kit. It's fairly conservative, but should be a bit more interesting than stock, without going crazy on the inlet duration.

Im planning to build another torquey tourer pinasco powered 225 motor. Im using the mec eur 60mm at the moment but as i was looking at ordering another one i now notice there are race and sport/stock versions and i dont know which i have. (I want the same duration as the one i have already)!
