Hi everyone!
I've not posted on here for a while, I've bee super busy changing jobs and lifestyle. I'm now a freelance writer working from home, and it's the best thing I ever did.
Anyway - back to Vespa stuff!
This (Easter) Sunday, Sheffield in England is having its annual Easter Egg run. Basically people on motor bikes take easter eggs to the local children's hospital, and pay £2 for the privilege.
Former MotoGP rider and ex-world superbike champ James Toseland is taking part this year.
Lots of motorbikes take part, but I'm trying to decide whether my GTS would be welcome as well?
I don't know if this kind of event is common around the UK/USA/world, have any of you guys and girls been on one?
The only downside is that it starts at 7.30am and it's still freezing here at that time. But it is for a good cause!

I've no doubt you would be welcomed. I've been on a few runs where bikes and scooters have mixed without any bother. Back in the 80's, you might have got different advice, but we've all grown up now and are a bit wiser.

It's a good cause and all will be welcome to take part. I imagine you will find more scooter riders there as well.

I'd just pitch up and enjoy it Nick. Only the luddites have got a bad word for autos these days, the rest have gradually embraced them as Halijaro says. Yes, Easter Egg runs etc are a good tradition for some scooter clubs around the UK - Peterborough has one that a mate rides on, a local club in Milton Keynes does one, and we do an annual pre Christmas 'Toy Run' to the local hospital to donate toys to children in the kids wards.

Got a soft spot for Sheffield as I studied part time at Hallam Uni the last few years.

You might be interested in the Annual 'Beat The Bikers' event in Matlock this year on 10 August. Used to be a bit covert (basically all the scooterists turn up early, ride into town and bag all the parking so there's none left for the bikers, hence the title) but as the numbers have grown its become more published and open. We rode up, did an overnight and did it last year - it was a great day. If you look at the pics and videos, you'll see plenty of autos... Beat the Bikers - Matlock, Derbyshire Sun 11 Aug

Just took a look on Youtube, here's last years at Sheffield...

Looks more of a mixed riders event but nothing wrong with that. Other towns seems to have mainly scooter club run events - Nottingham, Dumfries, Wirral and Peterborough all have Easter Egg run events vids on YouTube..
