Was pretty sure I was going to make a deal on a new Primavera when a new discounted '13 GTS300 Super caught my eye.....only $300 more than a Primavera....hmmm?? I've ridden the GTS250 so how much different is the 300? Does it have the same front end "whobble"? Both the 250's I've driven had the "whobble". I was impressed with the power of the 250, guessing the 300 is a little bit stronger off the bottom and midrange? I'm happy with the 150 I have now around my little town I live in but if I take it up to the 3000 feet mountains I guess the extra power of the 300 would be nice, very nice. But I also like the nimbleness of the 150 and I only have about 2 mile of commuting, not enough time to heat up the coolant in a water colled scooter. Yeah, I know, it certainly doesnt heat up the oil in the 150, one time when I measure it it was only +42C after my short commute!!

I had always been happy with a 150 too. I had also considered a used 250, but the first ride on a 300 instantly converted me.

I too started on a LX150... Test rode a GTS 300 super and I was hooked. |

Go for the added CCs so long as you sat on it and feels nimble enough. Makes more versatile if you want to do something more outside town. The 300, sky's the limit on what you"can do". Think of it as 300 dollars invested in freedom to not have any limits on where to go and roads you may have to take. If you don't use it, so what. .....but you "could"....
I have found there are instances where I have wished I went bigger or more versatile, but rarely the other way around. Own a 300 GTV and would not want smaller. No wobble noted thus far..... |

Just hold on with both hands while slowing between 35 mph and 10 mph and the wobble disappears. Even if you don't, it is really not a problem at all.
Buy the 300. |

What is this "front end wobble" I hear so much about? - says the GTS300 owner. Did I just get lucky and mine doesn't have it? Or am I just too new of a rider and don't notice it?

Every GTS I have ridden has a slight tendency toward front end "wobble" when decelerating at about 25-30 mph. As WLeuthold says, holding the grips snuggly suppresses it. Good tires and proper inflation will minimize the effect, as will torqueing the head bearing to the correct spec. Weight on the rear rack or topcase can exaggerate the effect. Handlebar weights help (that is why they usually come with a new topcase). For all that, the effect can be a bit startling if you aren't expecting it.

I commute daily on my GTS 300. Nine thousand miles so far and no wobble ever noticed. I keep my tires at just a pound or two below maximum on the side wall. Check the pressure weekly. Get the GTS.

We have a 2010 and 2012 300 super and love them both. No wobble in either and I have had cycles that would go into head shack so i know what to look for. Mine has a pipe, air box mod, and Uni filter, hers just air box mod.
They both have mid height Falco screens. they are great in town, good on the highway for 30- 40 mile trips, and perfect on a two lane twisty road. Had a Blur 220 i and the 300 just blows it away. |

Not all of them exhibit this behavior, although it's likely that all of them are capable of exhibiting this behavior given a few changes in parameters. |
