Grew up in Mississippi and spent a lot of time on "The Trace" both north and south (the split is in my hometown of Jackson, MS). In fact, just got back from a week in Jackson, where my sister got married one more time...she lives in Stockbridge, GA, so we drove from there to Jxn, via Birmingham & Tuscaloosa among others. It's great to be going along for your ride! Thank you!!! Victor/Palm Springs |

Cap ought to have some stories to tell after the weather over the weekend.
Looks like he's on his way back and is already past Tupelo. Should be an interesting post when he gets back home. |

Geeez, hope he can out run the storms today. Schools were dismissed three hours early in our system for storms expected to arrive around four.

Did you all go through the storm coming back from Memphis? It was thunderstorms for us the whole drive back to Atlanta for us on Sunday.

Hachi,
Whose scoot was that pulling the trailer? Think a trailer like that would work with a BV 250? |

DoorBuster, that was Capt. Gary pulling the trailer. I suppose you could pull one with a BV250 if you had a hitch. His hitch is specially designed and built.

Great pics in this thread, thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
I had originally planned to ride the entire Natchez Trace on my way to Amerivespa this year, unfortunately my plans have fallen through. |

The Dead Elvis Scooter Ralley was awesome. The daily festivities that the Scooter Kings of Memphis organized for us was fun, fun, fun. On Wednesday night anything motorcycle are welcome on Beale Street. We rode in together and parked, listened to Blues, had refreshments and mingled with the other folks.

Thursday Capt Gary, Hachi and I rode a long ride out by the Mississippi river during the day awaiting the Martini party for the evening at Pres Jays home. Unfortunately it rained us out that particular night.
Friday evening the group started coming in for meet, greet and rides. On Saturday we had more riding for Gus's fried chicken and later more rides and then the Scooter judging at whatelse in Memphis; another BBQ place. ![]() |

Boy I must say that after four days of fun the only thing that could dampen the festivities was what happened beginning Sunday morning. The awards were to be given and two scooters given away by a drawing. We had noted that Arkansas was hit hard by tornados and feared it was heading our way. Hachi took off that morning to try and beat the storm. The Capt and I went for the awards, brunch and scooter give away. We watched as a new Kymco 125 and a used 2005 Baja Chetak was given away. Capt Gary won a bunch of stuff. We waited until the rain slacked and headed out of Memphis. We got slammed with sheets of wind, and rain and had to stop at Super 8. The storm went over us and hit Tupelo, Miss hard. We waited and watched. The storm hit Alabama. We waited another day. We took of Wednesday and rode back home. Capt Gary stayed over with me another day because lower AL was still getting slammed. He made it home this afternoon. I went over 1002 miles on my scoot. Boy do I trust Miss Wheezy now. Over 100 registed scoots was quite the site. What a job the Memphis Scooter Kings did for us. And we were very fortunate that our families back home were safe.

Great pics. Enjoyed following along on SPOT as well. Glad all are safe at home again and that the families at home were safe.. I imagine we can see more of that here on MV as we get into more of a summer pattern.
