They are the same English it's just probably too technical. Really you have two options, Haynes or get hold of the original workshop manual or it sounds like just the user manual might be enough.

I have workshop and user manuals for most 60s models but you have not indicated which model you are working on.

Haynes car and truck books are pretty good, but the vespa editions are not. You would be better of getting the information from websites like scooter help and vespa maintenance. Try the Sip website for books.

No, it's all the "summat" and "ta's". And where in the world did spanner come from? A wrench is not spanning anything....

Heres two that spring to mind...

and

Think you'll be better off with the second one old bean because Ive read most of it online and theres no 'Jolly well' 'spiffing' or 'what what chap' anywhere in the book

I have the original factory manual which includes the VSC1 which is in English and Spanish, I also have the Italian version but they might be too technical as well. It's in PDF format so just need to work out how to get it to you.

You could read this Australian blog where someone takes you through his restoration process of a 180SS from the start to even now, it was in really bad shape when he started.

I am thinking of doing the same for my 90SS

Don't listen to the useless replies, some of the MV crew are about as useful as tits in a bull
