MP3 storage space
Storage space numbers don't lie:
Old MP3: "According to Piaggio, the storage compartment has a load capacity of 65 liters (17.1 gallons) and can hold objects up to 1 meter (39.3 inches) in length." New MP3: "Under the seat is a massive 50 litre (13.2 gal.) storage compartment that'll hold two full-face helmets or three days worth of groceries" In my personal opinion this cosmetic changes didn't go in the right direction. Considering new MP3 (next year) I am realty disappointed of the storage. Overall look was refreshed and MP3 looks much better, and I like it, but functionality is NOT better :disappointed:. yeah well the old one wouldn't fit 2 full face helmets size 64/xxl the new one will
it was/is bigger but the new one is more practical the old on did have a ridge in between the trunk and underseat compartment so you could haul long small things but my helmet didn't fit under the seat or trunk |

If anyone (perhaps Maskor) goes to VEDAscooters this weekend to check out the new model could they please provide some feedback regarding the colour schemes- I am undecided about the blue but the other variants do appear to be "dull" in comparison.
A dealer over here tells me the first UK shipment is for 36 and only 6 of them are blue so I might not be able to see that one in the flesh. Oh and it is confirmed the business variant is not being sold in the UK. |

Well I visited my dealer today and bought my new European MP3 500 Sport ABS/ASR in matt silver.
Unfortunately I'm off on holiday so it's 17 days before I take delivery. Plenty of time to lie back and speculate as to what mods to make - think the hugger is going to be the first one. |

review
Here's a review I ran across
http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/piaggio/2014-piaggio-mp3-500-absasr-review.html Reads more like a promo than a review but there are some tidbits of good info. It makes sense that they removed the wall between the front and back storage compartments to make one large under-seat bin. Obviously, the back passenger seat height was raised to create more storage room. The discontinued 500 had a nice mean/lean look but I guess if you're going to have one master model, this is a practical way to go, with good power and good storage. I hope they bring it to the U.S. |

headlight?
I wonder - does it still just have one headlight on, or have they gone (I hope) to the more sensible two headlights on?

More pics
Today I went to check what the dealer claims to be "the first MP3 500 in Madrid". The photos are actually bigger but I don't know if I could fit them here. Anyone who wants "life size" let me know.
The guy claims to have sold three last week. I don't know if he's just bragging but I have to say the bike is gorgeous. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yipee - that's the colour I bought.
Really looking forward to seeing how you modify it. Mine will be staying the original colour. Your probably not interested but I wrote to Fehling earlier this week regarding whether they would be producing their range of crashbars, pannier mounts etc for this version - if they do ----- it won't be until the end of the year. I can't wait for mine to get delivered a week on Monday |

Q......
Hello Happy NEW MP3 owners.
Can you give me and I think also the other MP3 friends here on the forum a small impression of your drivers position please. Is the inclination of the seat better, no more sliding forewords i.e.? And perhaps more relax or sportive or ....? What about the feeling with the bigger front wheels.....? Thanks in advance. André |

André It is undisputed that the driver and passenger more space ..... But the saddle is extremely hard . The throttle seems more responsive. Of course, the braking is much safer and biting. I look forward to end my running to test higher speeds ![]() |

You have alreay some options to put on? For the seat, let a nice ass sit in front of you, she will perhaps soften it some faster. Looking forward to see it. Safe rides. |

New MP3
Hoping that the new model actually makes an appearance over here in the states. Like my current MP3 but the new one looks slick and would like to have the option to upgrade to a newer model (an option sorely lacking for those of use in the states) will have to check with Victory in Chandler see if they have any info bout new ones coming to states

love it but the price
I love the glove box, usb out (for gps power), etc.
But the price! $12,000. Even if they brought it here, who's going to pay that? I'd rather forego ABS, ASR for a reasonably priced MP3. |

I'd rather forego ABS, ASR for a reasonably priced MP3. I do want one of these MP3's and it's getting delivered in about 2 hours and 55 minutes. Being a bit more constructive - I've read every review piece of gossip etc for the last couple of months regarding this new model and a consistent thread has been that the ABS/ASR is actually an optional extra. At the same time there seems to be some EU legislation coming soon that will make ABS mandatory on new EU sold bikes. I haven't seen any dealers trying to sell a non ABS version. Hopefully they may sell the bikes in the states with ABS/ASR as an option. I for one am really hoping that this bike does go the states |
