Hi all,
I did the search about electrical problems for GTS,s but a bit different problem with my 09 carb'd GTS. Rode it a bit yesterday, the headlight started to flicker on low beam mode and turn signals disappeared. Moreover, the engine started to shutter like it is cut off from power intermittently. Switched it to high beam, it fixed the problem, but on low beam- the same. At some point the engine nearly died. I recently replaced the headlight bulb, and while doing that took apart the headlight housing, etc. The bike starts and idles fine, so no issues with fuses, starter, or battery. Bulb visually looks ok too. Any pointers, before, I start tearing down the headlight housing etc? Thank you. Dan

gone in a flash
Hi Dan,
I am certain the problem you describe is an earth fault, my first port of call would be check your battery connections for tightness and corrosion, also chech the earth anchor point to the chassis under the pet carrier and inside the horncast cover.
There is a wikki article on the subject.
Cheers

Checked battery pretty much right away, but thanks so much for the other two areas. My garage does get humid over the winter season as winters here are warm and rainy. So six months of standing could corrode something. Dan
