Hey guys, so it looks like Scooter Crazy in huddersfield is getting a Fuoco 500 LT into stock in the next few weeks. After just buying a new mp3 500 and seeing the fuoco come in has annoyed me a little as I really do love the look of the Fuoco.

However there seems to be very little information about it so does anyone actually know if the performance is "better" than the MP3 500? OR is is an identical bike just with more aggressive looks.

Any information appreciated!

So from what Im seeing its got slightly more torque - a stiffer front end - wider track over the existing 500 and slight lighter.

That seem about it?

That's what I'm seeing. I don't even see significant design enhancements (not that it needs any), even in the instrument panel. I guess they are going with "if its not broke, don't fix it. It appears they made the change to the front tires to expand their European market to those who don't have motorcycle licenses, although (at least in Massachusetts), this would still require one.

I read somewhere in the last week that the only changes are those that in effect make it an LT version i.e. wider axle width and the footbrake integrated braking system.

The bike doesn't have the ABS/ASR which will feature on the new MP3 that arrives in may.

There was a post on this site in the last couple of days "The new European 500" link The new European 500 that has some pics.

I emailed my local UK Piaggio dealer this morning and they advise it is coming to the UK. This site is the only place where I have found info about it.

What is interesting is that sometime within the last week the Piaggio French site has reduced the MP3 price by 500 Euro's

I've just been offered the Fuoco 500 LT part exing my bike for £1200 - I must admit I'm tempted even though I would have ended up paying about £500 more

O decisions decisions!

European Models - New
Hello Will,

Decisions indeed, is this with Scooter Crazy?

Just wondered as I am going in now to pick up my 09 plate 400LT.

Also, do not forget about the Grindleford meet on 03/05/14 -

Do you have a source for this? I've googled, but not finding any solid info...

all it needed was a larger fuel tank, softer suspension and a bit more torque more storage space and about 50 kilos less weight !!

Oupsss.... The Eu law says : "has from 1° january 2016"....

For more information : IMCO comission of the European Parliament voted last December 5, the COM Regulation No 2010/542, which provides, inter alia, the obligation to integrate the ABS to all 2-wheelers, from 1 January 2016.

It is not a tax cut, but to liquidate the inventory on the old model before the arrival of the new .....

Don't forget that half of the MP3 production is sold in France

Must admit I had assumed that reducing the price by EU500 in France was a stock shifting exercise prior to the new model being introduced.

I've lost count of the number of times Amazon has played that game when it is about to introduce a new Kindle variant - but people who don't follow the trade press don't know that their "cheap buy" is about to be superseded.

There wasn't a corresponding change in UK prices but no doubt we are a much smaller market
