Top notch work, good pics and yeah, as it sits you should get spark.

I like that you're using the original style coil. If it's original(old!) have you opened it up & checked inside? Try another coil or test that one w/ 6V battery or charger set on 6V?
So if I hit it with a 6 volt charger I should get spark?

I have, you should. Imma go check to be SURE, same coil. Maybe wait & be sure I don't blow mine up? BRB

OK, it worked fine, fat blue spark and same when I hooked it back up to the stator & kicked it over to confirm that testing hadn't destroyed it.

Those Bakelite coils, whether original or reproduction, are often dead in the box or die shortly after installation. I have four or five of them sitting around. The smaller Sprint coils work fine. By the way, you saying that you are a "newbe" in your original post is kind of like being a pool hustler, isn't it? Nerd emoticon

Yep, most any coil from a 6V bike will work, not just Sprint. That's the BEST test, substitute known good part, but not if you don't have one

If your coil checks out, how were things on the stator? And don't tell me you haven't been in there - looks like you've been EVERYWHERE.

I stick a random small LED on the coil feed wire first to cheat & see if there's anything going on there before looking inside. flash flash flash

Very nice, but I would consider doing the center stand and lower shock bolt in silver. You are really close. The color is pretty much spot-on.

Outstanding!
I am inspired for sure. Will you work on the other two as well?
Not sure anyone pointed out that your VBB was likely an italian import.
The large "La Fondiaria" sticker that is visible on the legshield pre-resto is from one of the major italian insurance companies.

That is beautiful work, you obviously enjoy it. What's your plan when it's done (which should be about 5 this afternoon by my calculations... Razz emoticon )

Btw, has anyone seen SFvsr? Laughing emoticon

It runs. Not the best video but it started. Still have some electrical problems. The stop light, pilot light on all the time no headlight, rear taillight or horn.

Ran the bike around the block a few times no problem. Did drag in a little dirt will have to clean that up later. But as far as oil-gas I run the ready-mix 50:1 weed-eater gas that HD has. Now after doing a search on here it looks like Lucas semi-synthetic is the best with ethanol free gas. So bought a new gas can now have to fine ethanol free gas.

PS. May put it up for sale would 3 grand be to much?
