Lame. A bunch of different sections of video of the same guy riding the same scooter but wearing different riding gear in nearly every scene.

Whoa, Bitza! Put a helmet on, and turn the volume way up, too. I was getting motion sick by about 2 minutes into it. Didn't like the shady bits at all---kept waiting for someone/something to step out . . .

Dirt tracking an eight inch wheeled bike with drum brakes isn't lame, maybe crazy? I especially liked when he trail braked into the kink. He was definitely up on the bars riding that thing. I was impressed. I anxiously await video of the dude saying that was lame riding his scoot so I can see some real ball's out riding.

How the hell did that video, which has been around for years, come to be titled "Racing Vespa Scooter on TT Isle of Man" which it most assuredly is not?

Seriously though. The reason I said "Lame." It's because it is just little snippets of video stitched together. Because it is so heavily edited, I would describe it as not genuine effort.

Many of those turn in the video don't require drifting. Hell, on a few instances he obviously drives off the road or has to come to a full-stop before changing direction, at which point the edit cuts in to another recording of the same section of road with the guy wearing different clothing. Me? This isn't a conversation about me. It is a conversation about a shit video loop being passed off as "racing the Isle of Man TT."

Lame.

Just be kind. Stomping on people,s enthusiasm is for the real world. We come here to have our peculiar love of scooters reinforced.
one of the best things about modern Vespa is the genuine wide,eyed pleasure people get out of their scooters.Which is why I enjoy reading it and not commenting because everyone has to flame each other with one upmanship.
The video was presented without commentary and being snotty about it is unnecessary if you don't like it.

Though I agree with the sentiment you are expressing, I disagree with your assessment of the discussion of the video.

Example:

"Hey! I'm new to the forum! I just got my first Vespa. It is a fully restored 1966 Vespa Sprint! It was restored in Canada twenty years ago and sat in storage all this time! It's originally imported directly from Italy! Here are some pictures! I'm so glad I found this forum! I plan on learning a lot! I love my Vespa! I love all of you! The Earth is the best planet ever!"
Then the new guy posts a picture of his scooter and everyone knows what happens next.

Conch, by your reasoning the new guy wasn't hoping for commentary about his scooter. He was just posting something. Anyone offerring an opinion or less-than-glowing positive comment about how awesome everything is with that scooter is being a total dickbag and should STFU pronto. Is that it?

I think the extrapolation went too far. The video was of a kid riding a scooter, or more than one kid being extreme on a scooter. There was no commentary.
To say "lame" and extrapolate that the video was somehow fake or exaggerated was rough. That's all.
And often it isn't what said but how it's said. When you know somebody you can be an asshole in a public place but is it possible to dial it back?
Talking of work...

I totally dig the "extrapolation" of comparing my declaration of "Lame" to someone getting stanbed in the throat. Makes a ton of sense to me. Especially knowing that his sister was watching. This makes me understand why I shouldn't have said anything. However, I'm now wondering why you said anything, too.

Life is confusing and I have to keep trying to remember that. Not everyone can hold two divergent streams of thought in their minds at once. I multi task a lot at work...

I was replying to the notion that putting this softer gentler conversation on the work computer would be awkward. I like the softer gentler side of the internet at work.

Why do people get so worked up over this stuff? It's embarrassing. Even worse when you finally meet someone from a forum and they are a 56 year-old dude and that guy ends up following you around for an entire rally weekend and instead of calling me by my name he insists on calling me Ulysses just so he can start a conversation about what goes on on the internet. Then you make the mistake of mentioning where your going to eat breakfast the next morning and the guy shows up there.

That's rather sketch, maybe they're drawn to your feminine qualities. Can't say I've had that sort of effect on other guys thankfully.
