I would love to sit and chat with this guy. If only all my old teachers back in the day, were more like him, I would have learnt a lot more.

Things like that always amaze me. Who comes up with this stuff? My brain is wired different because who looks at sand and thinks "glass"

Exactly. It is amazing how easy it is to understand somewhat seemingly complex topics in math and science when a professor is able to simplify the concepts and communicate effectively.

It doesn't work with the remote on my Vespa security alarm. I have to be about 5 feet away for it to work regardless of whether I hold the fob to my head or not.

It works
I tried this today with my car and sure enough it worked. I kept walking away until the light stopped flashing, placed it against my head and they lit up, went a few yards further away and it worked again.
Now all I have to do is figure out a way of getting the key out of my ear Laughing emoticon Clown emoticon Clown emoticon

Works well with a piece of aluminum (aluminium) foil, as well. If you form the foil into a cone and focus it at your vehicle it will work for a much further distance. Sort of a satellite dish in reverse.

Damn, I've tried to edit to the Brit spelling of aluminium and my auto correct won't let me.

Anyhoo, you know what I mean.

I've been doing this for years in a similar fashion. I put the key fob in between the nasals.

Yes it works. I demonstrated this a few years ago to my girlfriend at the time in a car park. You get to the limit of the range of the key then you've got another 20ft at least when you hold it against your head.

She wasn't impressed but then she was extremely hard to satisfy I recall.
