Who are the most recent top performers?
Sellers will not have any input or provide help, shipping company must do it all.

I've used JC Motors for 7-8 scooters.

Door to door: as in, ding-dong, may I take your scooter? Then ding-dong, scooter delivery.

Sellers I dealt with had to do NOTHING other than be available, and if not available, communicate with the shipping company (otherwise it costs you,) when they would be available within the next day or so.

AMA Discount available.

I used uShip last year, though I don't remember the name of the hauler. Competitive pricing, and you get to read reviews before deciding.

Mine went door to door. Seller had to open his garage, and I had to wheel my new (35 year old) scooter into my garage.

Check it out. It's not all like "Shipping Wars" on TV, most of these guys are professional, and if they specialize in moving scooters/motorcycles/cars then they know the ins and outs. My guy was a motorcycle specialist.

Uship were a bit of a nightmare on the phone. The claimed their estimates were spot on yet there is a $300 difference between what the claim is accurate on eBay and what the actual quotes are.

The show? Never watched it so I no opinion.

Thanks, I'd like to know who your actual shipper was?

http://www.uship.com/profile/dvtrans/ DVTrans was the carrier I used. I'm pretty sure they weren't the cheapest, but were in the ballpark with the others.

One thing I would caution you about, is that if you're in a real hurry and need something on a specific day, then uShip may not be the right place for you. Most of these guys are on the road for a week or two at a time, and are constantly zigging and zagging to pick up additional loads along the way. My scooter took 3 days or so from Buffalo to Boston, but it didn't matter much to me. I think he went from Buffalo to somewhere north in New York, and then to Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and then back to me.

Since I only used them once, I can't say much else about uship, but that these seems to be a couple of ways to arrange a carrier and price. I don't think I went with a low price auction, but rather I put it out there and pretty much got the price I expected to pay.
