Hi MVers,
I found a very good condition Porcelain and Brass badge (circa 1930) from the National Automobile Club in the desk I inherited from my father's estate. My father restored several cars to their original build sheets, and he had this badge on the dash of his 1924 Dodge Roadster. He removed it prior to the sale of the car. He also restored a 1923 Ford Model T and a 1947 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet -so my dad was always playing with cars, the way I play with my scooter and my cars too.
Here's my quandary. I am thinking of mounting this on my top case, as a way to have a bit of my dad with me on my rides. I would be sick if it got stolen, and I doubt that people who thieve would be attracted to such an odd emblem. I figure that people who recognize the emblem for what it is would leave it be. I recognize that I'm probably being optimistic and naive, but I'm tempted to do it just the same. BTW, eBay shows these to have a value of $150-$180 USD.
So, would you mount it?
