Someone has updated the Vespa Club of Canada website since the last time I looked at it. But that my not be a good thing. It currently just hosts a listing of scooter clubs across Canada. No sign that there is going to be any kind of revival of the "National" club.

Not that the US is small or anything but Canada has some seriously long & incredible roads to be ridden. A national club only makes sense to me...I'd have thought it would be pretty popular.
If you serve poutine, they will come.

From what I can gather, the Vespa Club of Canada really never was much other than a Vancouver scooter club with delusions of grandeur. There are a few clubs that are supposedly chapters of the "national" club, but these now seem to be pretty independent groups.
A truly national club in a country the size of Canada would be quite an undertaking. I'm thinking on something of the level of having a national rally that would take place with a different host club every year. To my knowledge, The Vespa Club of Canada never had a rally outside of Vancouver. That rally was taken over by a club called The Worst Scooter Club Ever. They seem to have be doing a Labour Day Rally since 2009. Toronto's scooter needs are well met by the Toronto Moto Scooter Club. It is a very active club, but as one of the organizers is fond of saying, it's really more of an "eating club with a riding disorder." |

Sounds like the size of the country is both the blessing and the curse. I've been to Van several times but never on a scooter, that would have been far easier to get around town I think. I wish I could have done the same in Whistler too...I may have to start planning something.
Whistler poutine. Just because.

Vespa clubs seem like fraternal lodges... you see signs of them and occasionally a parade, but one wonders if they actually ever meet.
