Modern Vespa

I mounted my front rack in preparation for the cannonball. I have had it on and off many times. I also put on the full screen. My test ride around the bay went well but the steering was tight or "different". I thought it was just not having had all this stuff on for a year. Fortunately I went over the Big Red again from front to back and found that the rack mount was actually pressing on the fender thus giving the "different" feel. I am posting this as I have seen other photos of racks mounted with extra padding. This extra padding and the original rubber mount not being in the correct position caused the mount to rub on the fender. This was just a "different" feeling, but could have manifested into something more serious.

So did you bend the mount a bit? What did you do to fix it?

I removed the piece of rubber that I had added and moved the factory supplied rubber up to the bend in the frame. Probably re-evaluate it tomorrow and post a picture.

If I don't do any more stupid stuff like letting the garage door catch the rear fender, etc., I just need to add decals and I am on my way May 5th.
