I own a GTV 300. I just relocated to Seattle. The family is in PA and joining me in 2.5 weeks. It's a beautiful day today and all I'm seeing is motorcycles out and I get the itch bad. ....maybe I'll just go look. I end up going to Triumph and Vespa Seattle in Lynwood, WA. I am trying to justify on my head to buy a new motorcycle either street triple or bonneville. I already own my GTV and it'll be here in 3 weeks so a motorcycle will fill out the stable nicely. Was NOT planning this when I woke up.

I wander....mulling it over. Go upstairs to walk the vespa floor.

2 hrs later...

............,what have I done?!?!?

I suppose it's like going to look at puppies. Asking for trouble and you only go if you suspect you "may" buy....

That is just what people who live in Seattle tell everyone else to keep them away... "Don't come here, it's always raining, not worth it,..."

My wife is from there, I have been more than once, and I have not seen much rain. Love it up there, I would love to scoot there someday too!

Congratulations on the expansion of your garage!

Congrats on the new addition. It has been rather nice of late and the temptation of other riders enjoying the dry can be too much to resist.

And for the record for those of you thinking of moving here, it does rain all of the time, there is no good beer, the coffee is horrible, there are no bookstores, and there are tons of poisonous snakes and bugs, alligators in our lakes, the list goes on. The music scene in particular sucks.

I don't think I'll do one in every color. Actually I am 99.9% sure the GTV will go on the market when she arrives in Seattle in 2-3 weeks. I like her but it's more classic car than sports car vibe. I've had tons of compliments on it, but decided upon sitting on this beautiful scooter that we clicked more than the GTV - hard to explain. Options when I bought in NEPA were limited without 2.5 hrs of travel and the SE wasn't in any of the dealers I called before pulling the trigger. Now that I own, I suspect the GTV will get a lot less use and probably doesn't make sense to keep both...

I have 3 weeks to decide......

Well... Seattle is, after all, on the Left Coast...

We bought ours at the San Diego store. Great people and great selection.
We bought it during our first visit to the store so it could be called instant gratification. TC, the sales guy said it usually takes about 3 visits.

And OBTW, it is a blast in the canyons around Malibu.

A few cars come in that colour/finish. They all include instructions NOT to have them washed in an automatic car wash, not that you would wash a Vespa that way.

This type of finish is usually very easy to put irreversible shiny streaks into, if you rub too hard.

Cheers and good luck,
Bob

I am glad I'm not the only one!!! I've traded in a bike spontaneously for another before but it was my MV Agusta. SpU was going and had electrical gremlins pop up. Took it in for work to get it fixed but after walking them thru everything, I knew I'd be waiting on parts. I just on a whim said, rather than waiting why don't you all evaluate trade In (as is...) and will consider buying a new one. 2 hours later, Ducati Monster 1100 EVO. ...that said, I was dreading the downtime for a few days leading up to taking it in so I suppose it wasn't quite like this purchase....

I woke up and went to a completely unrelated store downtown and struck out on what I was looking for.... Decided I was in the area of the Triumph and vespa dealer so may as well stop in. ....oops....bought one. Honestly expected to buy a bike if anything, but loved this scoot....
