Some things I'm looking forward to:

Multimedia deal
Larger underseat storage

Though I have a few questions about the multimedia thing. The article on motorcycle.com
http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/04/24/manufacturers/vespa/2015-vespa-gts-gets-abs-traction-control/

says " the system connects smartphones to the on-board electronic system, allowing for real-time display of vehicle and engine speed, horsepower, torque, fuel consumption and other data. The smartphone can also be used as a GPS navigator. On ABS and ASR-equipped models, the VMP system can also function as a tire condition monitor, keeping track of air pressure and tire wear."

I saw the pictures of the dash, External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

and don't really see where all that data they quote would be displayed.

A google of piaggio multimedia display shows this:

So, are they expecting us to put our smartphones on a holder somewhere near the dash and then connect a cord to the smartphone to get all of the info they talk about?

If so, where would the phone go? will that be an OEM accessory we have to buy or will it come stock with the GTS? Compatible with android?

Obviously these details are not all out yet, just throwing these questions out there.

I really hope that temperature will be included in the "data" that is sent to the smartphone, or even better it will be included in the dash itself.

The dash in the GTS photo has a "74" in the digital part. But there is an analog speedometer so its definitely not speed.

But if it was temperature, it would have more than likely been in celsius, so its not so clear that it is the thermometer either.

Looks like that mount clamps to the mirror stem. I wonder if that's going to be an official Piaggio part (if so, I want one for mounting my phone) or if they're leaving it up to the buyer to figure out where to mount the phone.

Im guessing official OEM, doubt they would advertise a feature of the bicycle without fully supporting it.

I know this was announced, but haven't heard any stateside dealers weigh in. I asked yesterday at the dealer and word is no way this hits the US before 2015 year and likely may if that....

Not sure if those in "the know" have other details.....

So I'm thinking that with that flimsy looking mounting, if anyone ever crashes their bike, that could take their phone (and form of emergency communication) out. Besides a dash should be designed to show a fair bit of information, and the LCD size of this dash wouldn't make a lot of information easily readable - unless you "cycle" through the information, like on my Subaru wagon. And who wants to do that while they're riding? I still like my GTS250 dash over any I have seen since - as all you 250 riders know, you get a tachometer, fuel and water temp. gauge, tripmeter, clock AND outside air temp. reading.

I'm with you on the outside air temp. I LOVE that thing.

Bluetooth. USB just for charging.

How did you secure it? The handlebar mounts I've seen have been too large of a diameter to attach to the mirror shaft.

Rammount makes a reducer 1/2 ring and I used that.
