I'm a bit sad guys
Going down the motorway and the exhaust started blowing at the manifold
I had to creep it home

I bought a brake hose and two new manifold studs and a copper washer gasket
But Sadly on closer inspection one of the manifold bolts has sheared off and the hot exhaust gases have melted the rear brake line and also the HT lead

I can't even get on it really at home with the kit I have, so I need a decent scooter repair shop that knows what they are doing and will do a decent job for a fair price.
Ideally as local to me as possible as well and I'm based in Milton Keynes

help !!
I'm really gutted guys
I've got cold turkey and miss my scoot
A very gutted
John

Sorry to hear John.

Hitchin and Watford dealers the closest I think. None listed in Bucks

If you want to try a DIY fix, suggest you reword your title to get more tips. I remember Genie blew a gasket on Bike Normandy I think and had a similar fix, but not sure if she replaced the manifold...

Have you got breakdown coverage that will cover the transport cost to a dealer?

if the manifold bolts have sheared off you'd best get it to a garage. my problem was pretty straightforward - the gasket died, so we replaced it, which is a fairly straightforward roadside fix.

Just curious and keen to learn - why is this a definite garage job? Is it not possible to remove the sheared bolt in place, or remove the manifold to a bench and then work on drilling/replacing the bolts? I know there's not much working space in the engine bay...

If the bolt has sheared flush with the cylinder head then it'll need to be drilled and an easy-out used. There isn't nearly enough access to the head to do this in a controlled manner.

Taking the engine out isn't that big a deal, just takes time especially putting it back in with all fluids etc.
