Hi all,

New owner here, from SW Florida. Just bought a 'like new' S150 ie Sport. With less than 450 miles on the clock.

Really for my wife, but of course, I'm enjoying having a blip on it too. We're both originally from London, and scooters have been the a favored method of transport for both of us, whenever we needed to get into the city. Actually my first ever bike was a Vespa ! Back in '88.

Anyway, here she is.

First things first ! Hi to the community from the missus and I .

I have a couple of questions.

It's soon due for its 1st oil change maintenance. What are the differences between the S150 and LX150 in terms of engine. Is changing the oil the same deal on the S as it is on the LX ?

Is there anywhere online you can recommend for parts? As in new oil filter, replacement o-ring, cotter pin. Little things like that, which I'm going to need in the next week or so.

I saw a pic of modern style vespa with a side stand.. I thought it looked pretty cool. Any more info on those ?

I'm sure i'll have loads more questions soon enough, but enough for now.. Mainly wanted to say hi to the community.

Welcome to MV!

Apart from the obvious style changes the only real difference between LX and S is the immobilizer on the LX.... so yeah the LX service stuff matches the S.

Check out http://www.scooterwest.com for parts and in there and in the MV wiki you can find instructions and or videos for service. Also in the wiki are service manuals.
Get the belt kit that includes the tools you'll need to hold the variator and clutch.

Scooter Mercato is a bit closer to you (Georgia). Order from them and you will get parts in one to two days.

thanks, is there any reason to not use Castrol Syntec 5W 40 for the oil change ? It's what Audi / VW require in their cars. They call it European formula.

Motul 4T seems expensive.

Any "name brand" oil meeting the specs in the owner manual is just fine. As far as "European Blend", that's pure and simple marketing puffery.

Aloha and welcome to the forum from Hawaii. Nice scooter and the S is basically the same as the LX except for the cosmetics and the immobilizer. Have fun with her/him.
