I have a bit of vintage Vespa fever and this scooter seems about perfect to me. It went for USD$2,000.00.

Did the buyer get a steal or is this market correct?

If it is a full professional restoration, than the price is very low.
If its a restoration from Indonesia, VN, India, which it has
some signs of, then I wouldn't buy it in the first place.
There seems to be gaskets around the cowel glove box,
and gas tank that are used in many Asian restorations.
I wouldn't be surprised if it had a p series floor mat under
the floor protector.

I must agree with Music. The scoot is a pretty, shiny, first year Super (maybe) and the buyer had $2000 the he was willing to risk. So, he probably got what he was looking for - a pretty shiny, supposedly authentic scooter. I hope it does not kill him.

Judging that the seller was in Victoria, BC, where it's very easy to bring in Asian vehicles, you may be right.

The fact is, to do a professional paint job, and restoration,
plus the cost of the original un restored scooter, the seller
would actually be loosing money at that price.
If you look at what the shops charge when they do a full restoration,
they are double to triple that price.
Most of the time when you think you are getting the deal of a lifetime,
you are actually getting
what you paid for(or less than what you are paying for).
