Can someone explain what "ESS" actually is and or does?
I understand ABS and ASR, but never heard of ESS, and this statement doesn't really help much: "While still maintaining the classic single arm suspension on the front, the new Vespa GTS and Vespa GTS Super range adopts a completely redesigned system (ESS) capable of cutting sliding friction in half, increasing riding comfort." It sounds a bit like marketing-speak.... Thanks |

It sounds a bit like marketing-speak.... Thanks The Front shock now has its own pivot point and is more flexible, making the bike handle better. One thing that makes me ponder. With the LED running lights in the front, will the US model actually have the turn signals as pods under the headset now? The reason why I am saying that is because looking at the BV 350 that has LED running lights, and a front shield as wide as the GTS, the blinkers were moved to the headset. |

Dealer mentioned this weekend in discussion that this update is NOT coming to the US before 2015....far as he was aware was it was likely EU and needed to go thru DOT approvals for the traction control systems etc.
Are there any dealers on here with info that this 2014 is coming to the US soon? ....just curious. I bought a new GTS SE and wouldn't trade it, but surprised that the owner had bad data. I hear really good stuff about the dealership and owner is a scooter nut which was cool. He may be wrong.... |

This model is also an answer to the much discussed question about if and when we will see a 350 Vespa - the answer appears to be not any time soon. |

I already own the 2013 GTS 300 SS SE but I'm thinking about upgrading to the new 2015 GTS 300 Super Sport Special Edition because of the ABS. It will be released here in mid july for about EUR6,650 / £5,450 / $9,200. It's more expensive over here but we get free full coverage insurance for the first year, 3 years overall warranty for the bike plus 6 years or 60,000 km (37,300 miles) engine warranty, free road assistance with free car rental and more.

I sure can't tell by looking at the pictures- are these finishes gloss or more of a satin? The picture of the Primavera is obviously shiny gloss. The 300 it's a bit harder to tell. Sorry if the answer is obvious to everyone else.

Yes, Scooterwest has a kit to add daytime running lights to your current GTS. It's a LED bulb that replaces the stock bulb. With the key on it is white, when the turn signal is switched for that side it goes amber. In the new models it has a strip of LEDs for the running light part. It would be interesting to see if the new housing would go into an older GTS.

Suppose you have to wait until next year - 2015 - if you plan to upgrade to the new 2015 300 GTS Super Sport Special Edition since the production of Vespa m/y 2014 started in April 2014. According to the production planning at Vespa plant in Pontedera, Italy the m/y 2014 300 GTS Super Sport will go into production in June/July 2014. Keep us posted about your plans! |

Bike's engines' displacements are rarely precise, exact, round-numbers. A lot of "500" motorcycles are 498cc, 499cc, etc. My Buddy 170i is actually 168cc. This is normal scooter/motorcycle world nomenclature.

I have a GTS 300 ABS Model 2014 Manufactured - Grey in color per log book. I believe it is the Grigio Dolomiti. The engine compartment shows the Paint Code as 770/B
