Short story - guy owes me some funds, but he's a cash poor right now, probably won't see the bucks for a few months. Possible solution - He has a DR180 cylinder kit that I could use on my Super to wash out some of the debt. I done some searches on here, and I would not mind trying it, but I am unwilling to put anymore money into a different carb or exhaust. (no bucks - I am in recovery from surgery) I currently have a three port (Super) engine, stock P150 pipe and 20/20 Dell Orto carb. Do you think I would get much power out of this kit with the set up I already have? Thanks for all replies.

My opinion is some one else would be recovering from surgery is they didn't give me my money. Sounds like you need the cash more than the kit

My wife and I ride bone stock P125s with DR 180 kits. Nothing changed but the top end and I think one jet size larger. All original bottom ends, including seals. Had sat from the early 80's until I think 2005 when we got them with about 1000 miles. Kitted around 2009. No problems since.
We use them in the mountains, no speed limits over 55 and steep grades. It is a steep climb from where they are stored to the driveway. Before the DR kit, revving and clutch riding to get up the grade. Now simply start off normally and they pull right up. Noticeably more off-idle torque.
A little noisy at idle (piston slap?), more noticeable when cold. Not as vibration-free as the stock top end. No port matching, just smoothed the edges and called it done. Much better cruising, better headwind resistance and hill pulling, less downshifting. An inexpensive mild upgrade for our type riding.
It seems to be the Rodney Dangerfield of the top end kits on scooter forums.
