Before I scrap this original tear-drop switch for my 1959 VBA (with this one on SIP: http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/switch+for+vespa+125+vnavnb1_89471500) I'd like to try to see if I can find a replacement part or two from one of you out there to keep this original piece in operation . . .

From what I can tell, it's the plastic headlight switch protroduing from the bottom of the switch that is broken. The plastic semi-circle should be actually a complete cirle and there may be other bits missing.

I found a photo of another VBA switch, but strangely, it looks a bit different than the insides of mine: VBA Electrickery: The Adventure Begins - Update 8/9/13

Mine doesn't have the same spring mechanism . . . Any ideas?

Thanks,
Allen

Hoard it!
Dont scrap it you may regret it later when you come across a bit thats missing off it a swap meet or your fabrication skills improve and you want something to practice on.
It maybe a decent swap item for something you want from somebody else.

You may grow to like its shabbiness as an original part over the crappy repro one.

There are so many reasons to keep old little parts for at least 3 or 4 years.

when you finally tire of storing them or your wife asks about "all that junk" they make nice rally trophy embellishments.

If you can't find one it really must be rare. The one on my 60 VBA works fine and I have the teardrop knob but the knob on the bottom lever is gone. BTW What color is the cover supposed to be painted?

If you send the broken part to me, I'd be happy to draft it up so it can be 3D printed.

Oops,

Could you do that with an original turn signal post for the US scoots that attach to the cowl?

Draft it up I mean?

don't worry, I'm going to keep it
I just want to know if it's fixable or if I should swap it out for a new repro . . . Thanks for the feedback!
