Modern Vespa

Hey all -- I am a scooter newbee, and this is my first post. I am trying to find a Primavera -- my very first scooter. Decided to get my retirement bike before I actually retire! Anyway, I have been going from dealer to dealer trying to find a 2014 model, specifically the Primavera. No one has them yet! What's the deal? Also, I really like the Daring Plum, but I don't think it is available this year... does anyone know if you can special order? Thanks for your help!

And no, the Primavera is not available in Daring Plum.

My dealer has several, but unfortunately my dealers in San Jose, CA so that doesn't help you. They are a beautiful scooter. No one knows style like the Italians. I hope you find one soon.

I think they are verrrry slowly getting out to the dealers. I just hit 50 miles on mine today

Just curious and not to change the train of thought here, but are the LX's now discontinued? Would think they are trying to get rid of the LX's before they release too many Primavera's. Still don't seem to see a whole lot out there on the Primavera's. Is the USA market kind of at the end of the supply chain when it comes to distribution?

I would say in response to your questions/comments in the order in which you presented them: yes, yes, yes and yes. With the emphasis being on the bottom of the supply chain only because we are at the bottom of the demand curve as well.

The warehouse is pretty much completely out of the LX.
They still have S models but the LX are gone. Only what is left at dealers.
I only have 3 LX 150, 1 S150 Sport and 2 LXVs left.

I know Vespa Brooklyn just got some in. I was there for service when they were unloading them.

That black with the burgundy seat/trim is quite nice.

I was in Miami last week and saw a few in stock. They also had a couple of 946's, white and black.

I need to get that flyscreen when I go back home (to Europe) next month. Dealer told me they won't be available in US until late summer!

I saw one in Paris a few weeks ago that already had dents in both cowls.

I'm not certain I like having the "old model," a la ET4.

That's the old-old model. The old model is the LX now...
