Hello MV people! I am a scooter NOOB from Statesboro.

My wife is wanting a scooter. There is a '13 BV350 about 2 hrs away. Does the front wheel look kinda... off... to you guys?

What sort of things should I look for?

Many thanks for your input!

Looks off to me. Is it a private sale or dealer? Is there a warranty? If it's a private sale without an extended warranty, walk away!

The picture itself looks funny, rather distorted. You could always get it checked out by a shop if when you see it in person it looks wrong.

I'll bet the wheel is turned just a hair to the left. If it's in good shape you'll like it. I do.

Could be the brake rotor in the picture makes the wheel look off-center. I do wonder about the price -- half off sounds a bit too good to be true.

A BV350 is a lot of scooter for a noob. Has your wife ridden a scooter before?

Have fun!

Maybe I'm seeing things- have seen two ads for this scooter- one at $3850 and one at $3000. $3850 is slightly below what they're selling for here in Atlanta, but $3,000 seems just just way too low unless there is an issue with the scooter.

Could be a steal, but I have a tendency to be suspicious on these things. Be prepared for either a 'story' about the scooter or an outright scam....First thing is to ask why the $850 difference in the ads....

The wheel does look off too me to. Needs a good look over for sure before you buy it.

I have seen used BV350's SELL (i.e., not LIST) for $3,300 and $3,500 (at dealership). So I don't think $3,000 qualifies as "way too low" at all. Especially private party. Especially if seller needs to sell.

You can buy "never titled, but on dealer floor for 18 months" BV350's for less than $4,700 - that is the current list offered by dealer in middle TN and I promise you they would take less today to buy their remaining inventory.

As an owner, I wish the used market was better, but unfortunately it just isn't. Then again, mine isn't for sale, so I don't really care!

Edited to add: I note that an atlanta dealer offers a BV350 with 10 miles (assume it is their demo, but the site isn't clear on new vs used) for $4,499. I would negotiate hard for that bike before I paid anything approaching $3,850 for a used bike with a funny front end picture.

Good luck - the BV is a great bike in its category.

Fair enough- Tennesee may be different. Just going on our dealers discount rate ($4,999) and the used ones I see on craigslist daily. Never have seen one under $3800 in Atlanta, and noting this was posted on Augusta's CL prompted my comment. When they start showing up for 3k here I'll be looking to buy.

See my edit - 10 mile bike in Atlanta dealership for $4499 list - bet you could negotiate off that price. Dealers all over the country have 2013 (meaning they took delivery 18 months ago +/-) BV350's listed for $500 - $1000 off MSRP. That trickles down to the used market. Not just in Tennessee.

I think you should be able to find a used for low $3's no problem.

Look at the edge of the driveway as the bike is not parallel to the drive. The bike is slightly facing to the right which to me is why the wheel looks off. As always it is "buyer beware". Take it for a spin and have it checked out. The BV is a great bike ....good luck on your decision Also, how tall is your wife? The seat height for the BV is approximately 31.5"

Thanks- yes, that's my dealer- it's a used bike so I ignored it for discussion. It's certainly a good deal for 10 miles!

I agree. I think the appearance in the photo is entirely one of perspective. Always good to be cautious and check everything out, of course - but diagnosing things like wheel alignment from a photograph is marginal at best.
