I just installed a PM Tuning exhaust on my 2007 Vespa LX 150 and noticed popping when letting off the throttle.Scooterwest sells a SAS System Block-Off Plate to help with this problem.Any links with pics to help with installing the plate, working on my scoot is new to me and so far I'm enjoying DIY.

Johnny LX, this thread has peaked my interest. I have been wondering if the SAS system is really necessary and whether or not it hinders performance. Do the Vespas in other parts of the world have the SAS system or is it just a North American thing? It looks like the SAS block-off plate( http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=/item_details/SAS-System-Block-Off-Plate-150cc-Vespa/10445 ) replaces the copper(?) gasket( http://www.scooterwest.com/item_details/Gasket-For-Air-Injection-Tube/7315?clear_cat=true ) where the SAS line mounts to the head. It is item #13 in the drawing below. I would assume that the line would then be removed and the other end at the SAS valve would be plugged. The copper gasket looks like the one on my GT 200 and would like to know if they interchange and is there another downloadable parts book that matches my scooter(2005). There are several discrepancies in the one that I downloaded. I hope someone who has knowledge about this will respond.

Probably would need a gasket with the block off plate I'd think,I sent an email to Scooterwest to get some answers, hopefully they reply.I just wondered if anyone else has used the block off plate to cure the deceleration pops or is it really necessary to use it at all.Spent a lot of time and money on my Vespa and really don't want an issue making another.

I've been experiencing this as well with my 190 kit and GPR exhaust.

Any 190 kit owners used this? Feedback?

Secondary air supply. This system dumps air into the exhaust to help burn unburned gasses to keep the catalytic converter from clogging up. If you install an exhaust without a cat. the SAS is no longer needed, that's why you block off the opening. I don't know if Vespa's have a reed valve in them but if they do then you might want to remove it. It will get cooked and if you ever return to stock, you will have to replace it.
