Hi all, just have a general question.

I own a 2006 LX 125cc which I have owned since new. Its my daily ride and its been quite reliable in the last 8 years. 36,000kms done.

The only thing that I've had happen is the battery would go flat from time to time and not be able to get it started.

I've used the kick start which has got me out of trouble many times over the years. This would get me home and then be able to charge up my battery.

My question is, I would like to upgrade to a Primavera. I know the current scooters are all injected and they don't have kick start anymore.

Are flat batteries still an issue with the new scooters. Have people been stranded - unable to get the scooter going because of a flat battery?

any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Get a battery tender. Now with the Primaveras the battery is under the floor pan so I have to get a torx driver and install a connector on the battery.

Unfortunately, no battery lasts forever. All will eventually lose their ability to start a scooter if not maintained and replaced when needed. They typically last anywhere from 2 to 5 years. If you don't have a kick start (or jumper cables), yes, you could be stranded. But a dying battery usually will give you plenty of warning before it totally fails. It shouldn't be a huge concern.

Check your tool kit zipped to the underside of your seat. You probably already have a Torx driver.
