Modern Vespa

Hi All

Below are some pics of our recent trip from Johannesburg travelling down the escarpment to the city of Durban on the east coast of South Africa. The total distance travelled on the trip was 810 km over 3 days which was relatively easy going. The group comprised of 8 Vespas and 5 Lambrettas. Ninety percent of the trip was off the major motorway route and therefore the scenario we were treated with was outstanding. Judging from the pics below I think you will agree that South Africa is situated in a beautiful part of the world.

There is a healthy rivalry between the Vespa and Lambretta riders in Johannesburg. Currently the Lambretta SA Facebook page has more likes than the Vesparados SC Joburg page.

Fantastic pictures Vespigi! A trip of a few days is what it's all about for me!

After Vader comes to Australia (assuming he doesn't get eaten by a Red Back Spider or mauled by a Drop Bear) then he can go to SA!

I may have to hit SA before Oz Ginch.. if I try it the other way around I may never make it to ride w/ Vespigi! Thanks for the offer Luigi!

Sweet bike, has me wanting to snatch one up. Since it's your bike, I liked your FB page, that's the least I could do.

Kwazulu-Natal, aka The Zulu Kingdom was stunning. Part of our trip was along the world famous Comrades Marathon route. We stopped at a pub which is situated at the halfway point of the Comrades Marathon and overlooks The Valley of a Thousand Hills....... breathtaking.

You've spent time in South Africa?

I wish!! One of the places I'd like to visit before I kick the bucket. I used to ride mt. bikes with a bloke from Durban and he taught a couple of South African slang words. Looks like a beautiful place.

I was in Cape Town last week, and rented a vespa to ride out to Cape Point. It was a great ride.

I wish I had more time to spend in South Africa, because it is a beautiful country!

Hey Guys as Luigi has offered here Vader and any one else that is in or coming to South Africa and specifically in Johannesburg let us know the Vesparados Joburg will make sure you get to ride Vintage while in town. there are enough scoots to go round and even a bed for a night or 2 for a couple so wives, husbands and partners are not left out of our loop of scooter riding.

See there is always a double sided blade with this type of offer. for instance I will be visiting my Inlaws next year in Auckland , plan is to visit with them for a few days then take their camper van and do some touring.
