I've found a lot of motorcycle riders don't want to admit they are over compensating. Motorcyclist in general seem to be very myopic when it comes to alternatives and new technology. It is only after they are forced to experience something new that they start to change their opinions.

i love the challenge and technique of riding a "big" bike, but if you can't have fun on a scooter, you're no RIDER.

What I like about the article is how the writer is honest with himself, and the reader about his initial biased impressions of scooters. It adds integrity and credibility to what he is saying.

If more of the big bike magazines shared similar experiences there might be an upswing in scooter sales in the US, and that would be excellent on so many levels.
