great ride out to the end of the earth that is Dungeness.

and some from the Rememberance sunday ride from Regents Park. As I've mentioned before, I wasn't sure about a lot of scooters on a Rememberance rally, but it was very dignified and respectful. Many of our fellow riders were ex services or had connections. I went with Ashbrook, Noel and Gedmund [ Jamie] and when we got to Hyde Park corner Jamie and I went to see the guys lay wreaths. Jamie quietly said to me he should have brought his dad's medals because that day was special to him. Why I enquired, well when Jamie ws 8 and his brother was 13, his dad was in the Paras and as killed in the Falklands war. That certainly made me think and I was glad we all went.

Mrs. stickyfrog and I just finished the first season of the BBC2 series "The Fall". Top notch. Gillian Anderson is an acting animal and all of the acting is excellent as is the filming and editing. Can't wait for season 2 on Netflix. Anyone know of a way to get it sooner across the pond?

I'm afraid I don't but the first 2 episodes of series 2 have certainly been up to the mark.

If you really need to go right into the city centre then it would be easy enough to pick up a cheap LX125 for your commute.

Interesting to see that motorbikes will be charged the same rate as cars, small vans, and minibuses, yet only produce 1% of the projected breakdown of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
The blurb from the article " Motorcycles, mopeds and similar vehicles can be extremely polluting on an individual basis but, in total, account for a small proportion of kilometres driven in central London" seems very doubtful indeed, seeing that they have to adhere to the same exhaust standards as most modern cars anyhow...
2 strokes have all been stopped being produced now, as they were found to be the leading contributor of nitrogen oxide pollution, and that leaves 4 strokes which have far better and cleaner systems today.
My personal guess, is that someone high up, has spotted that there's a lot of moped/motorcycles buzzing around London and indeed other major cities, as an alternative and quick way of getting from Ato B these days, probably in the 3/1 range, and it'll be a great cash boost, to charge them the same as the cars/vans etc... kerching!
Now, I wonder when the other cities will follow (Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow...) as a great way to boost the council coffers, under the banner of "saving the planet"
