I did some roasted sprouts the other day - gorgeous. Over here they sell them still attached to the stalk - they survive fresh for ages. By the time you're left with just two at the end of the stalk it looks rather rude...

A nice little sprout recipe
Take a pound of sprouts and shred them Heat a tablespoon of oil in a A wok and then sauté a finely sliced red onion until caramelised. Add 2 cloves of sliced garlic, a little chopped ginger and cook another minute then add the sprouts. Stir fry until crisp, then add a handful of chopped almonds, a splash of soy sauce, a tablespoon of white wine or rice vinegar and a chopped red chilli. Stir until combined. At the last minute add a teaspoon of sesame oil Delicious. Kitty X |

As for sprouts. Barely cook them, serve them up in hot gravy. Watch in delight as pained expressions start to appear on the faces of your guests and their stomachs expand like Mr Creosote.

Coldharbour Lane
We spent a very interesting evening watching The Alabama 3 at the Brixton Electric ( formerly the Fridge ) in Brixton last.
The first support band - The Peckham Cowboys were truly terrible. We tried to leave but as we were "stamped" in we couldn't. 30 mins of pain. The second support band "The First" were so much better as they a clue as to what songs should should be about. You know stuff like verses, choruses, hook lines etc. Then were treated to a unsubtle mix of country, acid house, blues, soul, gospel, rock, dub, euro trash disco rave and some preaching thrown in for good luck. Just insane but worth waiting 2 hours for. It was one of the most crazy stage shows I've ever seen and Genie was suitably impressed also. Bill x |

At Last....
I've run the last of that fateful tank of French fuel out of the scoot. I delivered all of the "local" Christmas Cards by Vespa with my daughter as La Postina. 100 miles now since the rebuild and no problems. Looking good but I do need to get a long run under my belt to dispel any confidence issues!

Well, bugger.
After a near miss early this year, my company again tried to win a contract working with the MoD in southwest England. I was penciled in on it for around two months "on site". Went as far to get the security pass started even... and we didn't win it, again. Oh, we won on every technical category (again) but lost out on cost. I was kinda hoping that this would come through as I could meet up with some of the Skoks that I've already met, and maybe meet many more. I'll keep on trying! |
