I converted my 74 Rally 200 to a 12 v system with the Vespatronic kit from SIP. I purchased a new wiring loom from them as well.

As I am checking everything out, I am absent any wires that go to the ignition key cut-off switch -- you know the goofy one that sits below the bag clip on the seat.

Anyway, I have been looking for a wiring diagram to give me the correct solution to tie in this key switch to the loom, and I have an idea of what needs to happen, but am nervous about screwing it up.

Does anyone have a diagram of how to tie in the kill - key switch to the new loom.

I saw/ordered a wire set from SIP that is supposed to connect the kill key switch but I am not 100 percent clear on what the exact connections need to be.

Does it simply need to connect to ground and to the CDI ? or does it need to connect to the handlebar light switch also?

If anyone has a diagram I would be very grateful.

thank you.

BTW - previously I was advised on doing timing on my new stator, and that went very well, and I really think it was great advice.

On my 12v PX/E conversion it connects to ground from the cdi. You can do a test before wiring it all properly by grounding a wire from the cdi (i use the end green terminal) to the frame. I can only (dangerously) assume its the same for your conversion kit.

*Tip: If you want to add a bit of security and make it easier to switch off, there are keyed switches available that slot straight into the hole in the chassis, in place of that stupid kill switch!

Thank you.

Thanks for the input. I am sure you are correct on that I can test it out without too much risk.

always hoping that these kits come with diagrams like they say they should, but it is not always clear.

I do actually have a keyed on/off ignition switch that is under the seat. I don't have a kill button on my light switch or do I (I will need to check what they sent me)

Thank you kindly.
