That bike is wicked. Electric bikes are becoming much more visible around here, generating double-takes when someone is riding 20 mph up a hill and otherwise keeping up with traffic. I wish I could handle the seats for these...

Not really. I think when you do look, you'll look with the same eye as you did with scooters. The market has a lot of similarities, except that e bikes can be homebuilt affairs. With the right choices they are very sustainable for parts and such. There are a few in bike shape here but they do not sell. I found several dusty E Bikes in two shops. Dead market here. We are not a nation that pedals.
So far we'll have the capacity to charge one by solar. That won't save the planet but it tickles me. |
