Do they come with regular or synthetic oil from the factory? Asking because if they come with regular I'd like to use regular for my first oil change. But I realize that some vehicles come with synthetic right from the get-go. As I rebuilt a Yamaha 600 single (new bigger bore, piston, rings) many, many years ago and I ran it with synthetic it took a really long time for it to break-in, only later did I learn not to run it with synthetic in the beginning but I'm wondering with todays technology if it's ok to start using synthetic at the first service at 600 miles, i.e. it already is running synthetic. My Yamaha 1200 parallel twin Super Tenere I used regular oil up until 4000 miles but they were also known to take a while to break-in.
I use Rotella and if you buy a gallon now you get a $5 rebate. Google Rotella rebate and you'll find the form. Buy mine at WalMart where it's $24 a gallon. With the discount it's $19. Hey 5 bucks saved is 5 bucks. Gas money
I understand your question to be regarding the use of a non-synthetic "break-in oil" during the first 1000-2000 miles. As Jim says, Vespa and Piaggio bikes come from the factory with full synthetic oil.
