I'm not looking to buy another scooter but I came across this on ebay and was just wondering if it was for real or if it's some kind of elaborate front for a shady Vietnamese or similar rip-off like I've heard about. I've noticed that there isn't much feedback, which seems a little incongruous given how slick everything else seems. Inquiring minds want to know.

I dunno, after restoring something that extensively I'd want to ride it more than 2 miles.

I smell bacon.

The seller seems to be pushing all the right buttons..... But why no title?
That would be the hang up for me.

I would check in the NSM section and see if any one knows the "restorers" work.

I don't know anything other than seeing his items on eBay, but the way everything is PERFECT makes me suspect.

I still don't completely understand the desire for an absolutely perfect, 1000 point restoration on something you plan to use. I'd be terrified to ride it for fear of scratching or crashing it and turning it into mush. Of course, that's why I found a good "rider", it doesn't look like much up close, but it has 35 years of wear on it.

Also, there are a few places listed on the NSM "shopping" list like Bar Italia and Scooters Originali and I doubt either of these reputable shops could build what this ad claims to be selling for anywhere near the price that is advertised on eBay (not to mention the free shipping). If you really want a vintage scooter, talk to the people who actually have a good reputation locally or here online, and they WILL help you find an awesome scooter and get it setup just right for you.

I simply don't believe that the seller could "break even" on a scooter restored to that standard at that price.

I wouldn't eat it. Things that seem too good to be true usually are.

Exactly right. The description sounds too good. The price is too low. And the free shipping is more frosting than this cake ought to have.

I pretty much agree. That and the photography looks a lot better than point and shoot and I would worry that the "shipped" scooter would not be the one seen in the photos.

Also the headlight should be a trap, not round and I believe the legshield should read "Sprint".

As far as "Kosher" I will leave that determination to Treppenwitz!

Seller states he's been selling Vespas on eBay for 10 years and has a feedback number of 2? Run far away.

He sold 8 under his previous account and generated 3 bad feedbacks.

But even that account only dates back to 2012.

There are several alarms going off for that scooter. DO NOT BUY. If you are looking for a Sprint, get a '69 or later (Veloce) for the three port case opening. Makes for a better commuter. Two ports are slow.

In the title it says free shipping but unless I am missing something it is only free if you pick it up in West Hollywood. Deceptive titles on Ebay are also a red flag.
