Hello everybody,
I bought a secondhand Vespa px125 in March 2014. It had 555km, so I consider it as new. 8) I consider myself as a noob of the motoring world.
The problem I have (since the day I bought it) is that the engine doesn't start unless I use the electric starter at least 10 times... By kicking, it takes 10 kicks as well no matter if I use the choke or not..
Is this normal ? After how many kicks or pushes on the electric starter should a px125 start ?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Kindly,
Stefano

Welcome.
What are you doing with the throttle when trying to start? If you are using the choke, which you should be when cold, then you need to leave the throttle alone and not flick it until it starts.
If you are doing this and it still doesn't start then it points to other things, but I would say this is the first thing to consider. Properly set up, it should start second or third kick from cold, first when warm.
Also, you will get more responses if you post this sort of question in the Not So Modern section, and this may get moved there by the moderators.

Hi Halijaro !
Thank you very much for your answer !
I usually try to start it with the electric starter, and most of the times it works after about 5 or 6 pushes.
Thank you for the advice about the use of the throttle and the choke ! I'll follow this rule for next time
See you around on the forum
