After 5 years and 19,000 miles my clock battery is dying, sometimes it's blank or when it dimly comes on the time is incorrect - is it worth changing the battery?
I really like the clock because I don't wear a wrist watch and it's a big hassle to check time otherwise.
What have you all done?

To me it's worth changing. I like having a clock on the dash. I have had the handlebar covers off several times and it's not that difficult to do. It is tedious and time consuming though.

Worth changing in my opinion, I've recently done mine and it's not as difficult as you think. Just takes a bit of time to get to and put back together.

Might jinx it but mine's still going at 7yrs old and almost 28,000 miles. I think it's useless. Can't see it during the day when the sun's out most times. Your call but a cool watch would be better. You could wait until you have to go in there. Do you still have your tabs on the headset? If so i'd worry about breaking one of those. Not worth it IMHO. My clock is about 1/2hr fast tho. Good luck

Does anyone have the battery number? Is it the same for all Vespa clocks? I need to replace mine in the GTS. Just would like to have it while I'm in the middle of the mess.

Theres no way (at least on my s150) you can change it out in 5 or 10 minutes ..
It took me a lot longer than that but it is something you can do. Take your time as its easy to break the tabs on the speedo cover..

you can use energizer batter ENE386 or the same type from a different manufacturer...

good luck..

I love my working clock

I was sort of bragging when I was saying I had the same battery for five years I didn't realize some one could have it run so much longer.

By the way I was just in Hawaii, pure family stuff no vacation or free time, was there for two and a half weeks and put in over 1500 miles on just Oahu, anyways moved my mom here with me in AZ I just locked up her condo in Waikiki leaving it there for a latter time.

My clock battery was almost 8 years old when it finally went completely out. Luckily the steering head bearings went bad around the same time. I had Boris change both iwhile the front plastic was off and now they work like new.

I've got 8 yrs on mine (the GT200) and so far is still going strong.

The BV500 is wired into the system and no change needed.

RAJ when you come back please look me up. I'd love to treat you to a meal. You can rent vespa's down in Waikiki. Verv easy to put many miles on anything here. Being on an island is deceiving. Good luck with your battery. BTW you should check your steering bearings while your in there. Mine were rusted big time.
