I was exploring the technology section of IndieGoGo and discovered a concept that would place LEDs on riding gear (jacket, helmet, etc.) that interact with a motorcycle or scooter's running lights, brake lights, and turn signals. In no way am I affiliated with Ryde Bright. I just thought I'd share.
I like the idea over wearable lighting. I think we will be seeing more of this in the future. The Arduino Lilypad board lets you create wearable clothing.
There are dance groups that do entire routines in the dark with leds sewn in to their clothes or el lights.
Turn signals are controlled with buttons at the cuff. The wiring is conductive thread that is machine washable.
But what I really want is this. They are called revolights. I see a use for them on many two or three wheeled applications. I may get a set for my recumbent trike, eventually.
