while it's not a vespa, i think the rolling barcalounger is an acceptable replacement-- given the task at hand.

The mighty Helix, the Beast, was delivered to Wrightwood this morning. Later this week, teacherquinn (and Kevin, too!) will be taking it up to the Bay, where maroy and others will load in onto the trailer bound for Canada, then Alaska.

We haven't even started yet and I'm already deeply indebted to the many friends who have helped me get this far. The planning and organization involved in just prepping for this has been all-consuming for months now. (My poor wife!)

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but your ass is going to be much happier than all the other peeps out there. I could ride my Helix for days. Very comfortable. Their so ugly their cute and they they just run. No fussiness about them. Have fun and be careful. Lianna leaves today to start up there also. It's time. Woot.

Even though I've ridden 500 mile days on the Sports City and done multi day trips the airhawk is going to Hyder with me.

my plan is to spend less time riding than anyone else, so no need for the comfort.

I suspect that Lee will have the least comfortable scoot in the cannoball. I'm taking the airhawk because I see no benefit in not being comfortable. I figure no matter what speed I manage it will be at least 5+ on the scoot each day but I do expect not to exceed Googles "time" for each day's route even though I'm not using a touring tank.
