That's about the rated top end for a stock 150. The LML/Stella says 52mph in the owner's manual. Anything past that probably involves you doing things and Asking For Trouble.

I had my Stella cruising at 62-65mph when it grenaded. I figure that on that scale, what I'm building now is probably more on par with an anti-vehicle mine...
I hear you. It's doing the best it can with what it's got.

You should start a thread: "Engines I Have Blown And Loved". Have to be some great stories out there.

I just done the same thing with a V90 motor.
Do yourself a favor and get a small wire brush attachment for your drill if you don't mind the slightly scratchy shine.

Just do it over the top of your wheelbarrow. Then you can sit in your chair.

Well, that was wishful thinking. This one has been sitting so long that the sedimentation has the fuel tap completely clogged. Not even a drop of fuel would come from the tap, so I'll be replacing the tap.

The tank is pretty nasty inside, so that needs a good cleaning too. No hurry, I really enjoy the process!

Off to the store for some chem-dip and naval jelly.

Nice Alex... I know (via GSF) they were having a lot of problems with the Spitfire breaking... so I opted to do basically the same thing but through my gears.. I use a Tall 2nd and a short 4th.. my next iteration will be something slightly different, but 3 of them gears cost a lot of monies!

Let me know how the spitfire works out.. after talking back and forth with Denis about several subjects, one this I found out is that he's playing catch up to make his gears, trees etc. suitable for the massive rise in HP over the past 2 years... so he's done things like the F1 Runner (which I got to replace the older, lesser heavy duty runner) and is using better steel on different gears.. and hopefully large frame clusters. I hope (I'm confident) the new spitfire is up to the task.

Nice wheel covers, Len, great condition! And I see that your Primmy is my one of favorite colors.

Now you're forcing me to show stuff before it's really ready. I got a set of covers like yours a while back, but no mounting hardware so I stashed 'em.
Then this smallie showed up w/ these crappy covers & all the hardware.

Bingo!
I just put them on a half hour ago, but I think I like better w/o the plastic backing disk! Front one is nice but the back one is all corroded & the chrome is peeling. Perfect for this old thing.

Prototype-grade install. i.e. it's on there so I can decide if I want to spend the money on proper mounts. Details on what was involved in Porting 101

Now I need to figure out how to attach the damn throttle cable. Off to search the forums...

Weird size I guess. I have several sets of allen wrenches. and 10 down to 6,5,4,3 _ 2.5,2,1.5 and 1.. it's like the M7 or M9 socket caps of allen keys!

Luckily, it was an ex business phone from my brother inlaw....the downside of being so intuitive to use and not coming with instructions, is that you don't always know everything they can do.

I'm a real basic user, and wouldn't say I HAD to have one, but they are pretty good, and tie in well with the ipad....but I'm a PC user at desktop level

I could maybe, possibly make it out on Saturday, but I don't know that I necessarily trust my VBB to make it all the way out there and back. Plus, unless UPS is lying to me, the last of the parts for my LML motor rebuild should arrive tomorrow, so I'll be doing that instead.

Oh, and rain/mud. I've slept in enough of that for one lifetime.

Now if some Chicago folks wanted to meet up, preferably on the North Side, over the weekend for some sort of Not-erhouse ride, I'd probably be up for that...
