...chatted with Gene at Scooters O. He took some time to explain some peculiarities of old Lammy engines. Didn't make a penny by taking time out of his day to school me, but it's shit like that makes me loyal to Scooters O and Motorsport on the west side. Worthy.
Thanks again Scooters O, you guys rock. |

...received a Care Package from SIP
1. Replacement exhaust for green machine. The previous Seri Pro was too loud for my neighbourhood. I'm hoping this one will be quieter since it has the standard looking box fitting. I sold the other one to BFR. He's a bad ass, and doesn't care how loud he is.
2. Main jets 76/78/80 and idle jet 45 to tune up from 74/42 current setup 3. Thought I'd rock a yellow lamp on the green one to see how it looks 4. Dogleg levers. I recently bought the classic pointy ones from SIP for mr green but I don't like how they feel. The angle off the grip seems greater than the stock levers and it always feels like my hand is gonna slip off the end without the ball. 5. Polini spring for when I do the clutch on the 75cc kitted silver one. The Polini spring in the green ones clutch is working really well. 6. Replacement exhaust gasket for the silver one I had to borrow to get the green one working. 7. Stand boots for the silver one, as one side has gone through. Should keep me busy over the weekend ![]() |

This one is a Serie Pro. If it's half way between stock and the previous one I'll be happy. Are the boxy bits not the same? This one looks identical to the stock one except for the pipes...

I just whacked the exhaust on. I'm very happy with it. It has a much lower note than the other Seri straight through pipe.....really low and throaty.
I'll take a video and post it later. I can't get the wheel on because the seam around the box is fouling the tyre by a few mm. Can I just take a grinder to it. Looks like I'll need to take off half the seam width. What I have done is set up the top connection which put the lower connection about 10mm away from the cross arm, so I bent the plate on the exhaust into an S shape to bring it closer to the cross arm, but this had left the box further back which is why it's fouling the tyre. Should I do it differently EDIT. Fixed it. Went all ghetto with some vice grips and bent the seam down. The stock pipe had also had this done to it I just noticed. ⚠️ Last edited by rod_r on UTC; edited 1 time

So on the way home 5 miles of city traffic to go, clutch gives up. Best of all the cable is fine so it's the inner lever and whatever it's taken with it!

today I... almost got killed when someone pulled out in front of me making a left turn. they almost got hit from behind too when they pulled in front of about 5 cars coming from the opposite way. i skidded about 30 feet to avoid hitting them. thankfully i didn't drop the scoot.
last night I... was following a car down main street who i could clearly see was reading facebook on their iphone while trying to drive. they were swerving in and out of lanes, and a few times I thought they were going to pop the curb onto the sidewalk. |

Today I buttoned up the ported LML motor and threw it back in the Stella frame.
It fired up pretty much straight away with a little starting fluid, then was fine after that. Idles like a dream, starts on the first kick every time. Tomorrow, I'll set the timing for real since I just used the mark on the stator plate to go for 18 degrees. I'll also swap the 20/20 I had on the bench for the 24/24 from the VBB along with its license plate so I can actually get it out on the street. Today, I just rode it up and down the alley until it ran out of gas. Right now, it idles beautifully and has a flat spot from idle until mid-throttle, then it jumps up and goes like crazy up to about 6,400 RPM, which is where it redlines. The biggest problem I have at the moment is that I had to replace my flywheel and the P200E flywheel I picked up for it works fine, but the fan cover doesn't want to fit over it. Even stranger, the holes on it no longer align with the holes in the case. It's a little bit too short (too small diameter) by 1/4" or so. I'll have to figure that out, along with various other bits, but the thing is running after a rebuild that's dragged out for various reasons since July 2012. |

Ginch wrote: I mean if the P200E was a non-electric start, then the case and cover is a slightly different. I have two flywheel covers for it, one for a P200E which I ordered and the original cover that came on the bike. They both rub the flywheel and neither of them fits the screw holes on the motor case. The only thing I can think of is that I have the original Stella cover on the VBB's flywheel, and I'll check that in a bit, but that still doesn't explain the holes not aligning since if that's the case, then the VBB flywheel cover is one of the ones that doesn't fit the LML cases. |

Got my bike running again!!!!!!!! It took me a while, but I just completed my first engine rebuild. The motor has never felt this good. I still have to adjust the carb to get it right (it's stalling on me) but managed to gun it down my street. My family couldn't believe it.
On a down note, soon after I started it I tested the turn signals and lights, which were working, but then I think my bulb blew and now I have no working lights (front, rear, horn, or turn signals). So I'm not out of the woods yet. But the engine runs!!!!!! Soo excited. V. |

First kick start, idles like a top at 1,700 RPM's, but if I jump on the throttle, it dies. Trying to actually ride it, it has pretty much NO power off idle, either. If I goose it a little to get it up to the mid-range, though, then once it gets on the main jet, it goes like a bat out of Hell, so all hope is not lost, but it still kind've sucks a little. I need to try some different atomizers, maybe, but I'm at a bit of a loss on this one. I was going to do it this afternoon, but fell asleep on the couch for three hours instead. On the bright side, I also put a 20/20 back on the VBB and it's running better than it ever did on the 24/24, especially mid-throttle. Props to Rob Hodge for his always-ignored advice about how most scooters can't actually draw enough air to benefit from the larger carb's. |
