Today I started messing with the 79 kitted modded P200 I stole.
I screwed with the choke cable to the 30mm PHBH for a couple of hours...yeah...a couple of hours. First the new outer wouldn't go into the tube. Took awhile but I figured out the old top hat was stuck in there. Stuck good...had to drill it out. So I have the cable close...but still a little too long. The outer isn't staying seated in the tube. I also did some fish fish...fish fish... fish fish fishing. I already had the tank out so took the horn cast off and ran a bicycle brake cable into the tank area. Only took about 5 mins to pull through the new green ground, CHT wire, and SIP speedo power supply wire. That was the easy part. Getting from there up through the headset sucked. I finally took the connector ends off the CHT lead and the power supply lead to get them through. I made the CHT connector back on but need to splice the power supply connector back on. I can tell that the guy that had it before did some nice work. Braided fuel line still looks good. |

Installed my PK XL2 clutch into the Primavera. It's always hairy worrying about that little woodruff key, but it's in and the nut is torqued. No interference to the clutch cover, looks like it's going to work out OK. Next up - putting all the other stuff back on and trying out some new bits for the CP21 carb - a leaner slide and a bushing to lean out the needle since I've been on the first clip. Hoping this all happens for Mods V. Rockers.

Put new mirrors on the PX. Got rid of the original antennae mirrors. Not sure if the new ones look better. Did it more out of boredom than anything else. They don't stick out as much so I guess I won't clip car mirrors as much when I'm filtering.

Cheers. Ebay. From Taiwan. They were advertised as Vespa LX mirrors but apparently LXs have a threaded mirror where these slot straight into PX headsets i.e. 10mm no thread.

Ginch the company is called KiWAV if you want to Google them. I did a quick search and didn't find what you're after but maybe worth a closer look as they've a shitload of stuff.

Submitted my cold weather challenge entry for the year. 18 miles, 32.9 degrees. That's as cold as I need for this winter. Winter gloves aren't enough for that distance at 32.

It's supposed to be below zero F here every night this week, but right now the weather is laying down a nice icy base coat of mixed rain/snow/sleet, so I'll probably keep the scoots in the shed. |

My soldering is getting better...not great...but better. I look at it this way...there are very few after market parts that I haven't had to modify in one way or another to get to work so I don't consider it a big deal. |
