Good to hear that, Ebeth!!! Back on your scooter soon I hope.
ouch, been there Bitz, wish you were local, I'd send you one of my sidestands converted to RIGHT hand, as they should be made. I've altered the angle so the bike is nearly upright to solve the flooding problem and it's still a hundred times more stable than the LH stand I still have on my Cosa. ![]() was pretty ugly after I extended it to avoid flooding & a muffler full of gas ![]() much better ![]() and completely out of the way when I kick it |

Picked up the ET3 I have been trying to buy from a good friend for a few years now. Put some gas in the tank, cleaned the carb, air in tires, a different seat (until an SIP order is made), changed gear oil and a few kicks and she is a runner! Well almost..... it died in one of the test runs but we think we know what it could be.

Not today but last week. Visited a mate that lives down the coast. Took his Super for a burn around town and snapped a shot next to this E type Jag.

Yep definitely Apart from the lack of power (lots of hills in Bermagui) everything felt sloppy. And small. Still heaps of fun though.

yesterday - drove home with no lights after dark, seems the Serveta stator has finally crapped out. That sucked. Fingers crossed for the P200 headlight that "fixed" itself the other day. I've at least got wire, electrical tape, and a wiring diagram stowed away in there to run the light off the battery if need be.

noticed something funky going on w/ disc brake.. I took the caliper apart and found that one of the pistons was stuck... so I took 'em out lubed the pistons and seats, cleaned the passage way, tested it and that fixed that.

Recovered the SS seat with a new cover from SIP. Turned out nice but was a pain to do. I actually broke a sweat.

Rufio - pretty sure I had my Serveta out last year. The year before I had my blue P.
If it goes well for me I'll have the orange Primi out. I was only planning to do the Sunday ride at this point. I'll be on the lookout! |

Word to anyone installing a new caliper.. take it apart, and make sure both piston function (you can do it w/ compressed air.. then blow the pistons out, use some copper "grease" on the pistons and a light smear on the backs of the pads and make sure it's working as it should before you go through all the trouble to install it.. I've had good luck w/ 3 others, but both of these calipers were brand new (but who knows how long they sat in a warehouse) so it's a good idea to check them.. and doing so is very easy.. just don't let the tiny o-ring that seals the two halves together get lost.. it's a little 'n! ⚠️ Last edited by Vader19 on UTC; edited 1 time

You just may!
.... today I Book Review... also finally got my imported book I ordered from the UK.. "Skihead an Archive" I've got a nice collection of Rock, Punk other Music, Bands, SubCulutre books, and this will make a nice addition to my collection.. It's a beautiful book.. beautifully bound and printed on top quality paper.. very well done.. much of the content and pics I've seen before, but there's a lot of new-to-me pics.. I have't really dived into it yet.. don't wanna burn through it all at once. But for anyone who collect similar books, Music, subcultures etc.. I've really a nice piece. £53.00 but worth it.

Chris I'm not quite sure where you're putting the copper grease, but it shouldn't be in contact with the rubber seal of the piston. Plus I'm not sure if it'll do anything to the brake fluid itself. For rebuilding any kind of brake calipers you need to use rubber grease.

Ginch, the grease isn't anywhere near that little rubber seal. thanks for bringing it up though.
Antler... I'll check that book out.. thank you.

Good man Ginch I was gonna mention that. The copper grease dried out goes rock hard and wrecks the seal. Grand on the backs of the pads though

Since ive been away, ive been taking my 10 yr. old son out to the El Mirage dry lake bed so he can open up his little 80cc suzuki, and i'm still playing with the big wheels myself. Currently, I'm turning one of my hondas into a dirtbag chopper it once was. I need some little wheels for myself in my life again, but $ is tight. So, I'm lent a scoot whenver I need one...but its not the same. Hopefully soon though! |
