Miles out.....?
Today I failed my Module 1 bike test.
I had a completely clean sheet apart from the hazard avoidance test where I didn't reach the designated speed of 32mph. I was doing 31mph. So he failed me. That, my friends, sucks ass. |

They don't do a points deducted scoring? One mistake and you fail? That blows. On my MC endorsement test I got 2 points deducted for failing to get to 23-28mph before a turn (the course was really small and the proctor even said it would be hard to get to the correct speed), I would be pissed if I failed because of some tiny mistake like that.

Nothing better than riding the street engulfed in a huge cloud of blue smoke. Then boogied home on the PCH 'cause I had prior engagements for the rest of the afternoon/evening.. Going to go see Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.. they play the movie on the side of a huge mausoleum.

Locked it up. I went around a turning truck and didn't see a car turning behind the truck coming from the opposite direction. Rookie error on my part as I should have anticipated it. Gave it too much rear brake and started going sideways but kept it upright. Glad I had the new tires on. Got to be a bit more patient in future.

Put my engine back in the smallframe, mostly complete now. Had a moment of panic when I couldn't find the flywheel woodruff key - is it in the engine, where is it????? Went camping and had a thought it might be on the end of my magnet. Looked at my magnet when I got home and smiled - there's the bugger.

Picked up my cylinder from being decked .030" today, in the pouring rain, on my scooter. Found out Gore-tex isn't completely water proof, especialy with rain hitting your chest at 60mph. Now just waiting on my clutch from Rob.

dude i have no idea. it was the rear filter screw, the straight one w/ no head.... we tried to duplicate it outside the bike and couldn't even PUSH the screw through. and this is twice now.

Also I can't remember, but does that screw stick up far enough to drill a small hole through and tie wire it? |

i don't think so... i was thinking maybe some loctite. either way tho, my motor is in some serious shit...
this happened at around 50 mph... i fished what was left of the screw outta my intake... about half the screw is still in the motor. motor's frozen solid. i'm guessing that the rest of the screw is jammed between the crank and the pad... pulled the jug on the side of the road... nice little pile of metal shavings on top of the piston... |

Mac,
Shit, sorry. As i mentioned i did that too. I always loctite those on the vortex. I got a stock screw and it sits a little prouder of the velocity stack. Im hoping that and loctite will do it. If you're lucky, you won't have the catastrophic case damage i got from the crank pushing sideways and cracking the case. |
